@abelha, have you tried running the game in windowed mode? Right-click on the shortcut you made, go to Properties, and in the Target box (right at the end, after the speech marks), hit space and add this: -windowed -w 1280 -h 720

Also, if there isn't a steam_appid.txt file in the game folder, just make a new text document, name it steam_appid, open it up, type 730 in there and save it. Lastly, are you 100% sure both depots downloaded properly without any errors and you've merged them into the same folder correctly?
